Cataract Surgery-
Cataract surgery is a procedure that removes the lens of your eye and, in most cases, replace it with an artificial lens. Normally, the lens of your eye is clear. A cataract causes the lens to become cloudy, which eventually affects your vision.
Cataract surgery is performed by an eye doctor (Ophthalmologist) on an outpatient basis, which means you don't have to stay in the hospital after the surgery. Cataract surgery is very common and is generally a safe procedure.
When considering cataract surgery, keep these questions in mind:

Different Lenses (IOLs) Options
Intraocular Lenses (IOLs) - IOLs are FDA- approved artificial lenses that are implanted inside the eye to replace the eye's natural lens when it is removed during cataract surgery. There are two main types of IOLs: conventional monofocal IOLs and technologically advanced presbyopia-correcting IOLs.
Monofocal IOL- Monofocal IOLs are basic artificial lenses designed to provide sharp vision at one distance, such as far distance.
Toric IOL- If you are interested in correcting all of your visual distance concerns this may require an upgraded Toric IOL to correct a astigmatism.
Presbyopia IOLs- Presbyopia-correcting IOLs are advanced artificial lenses designed to provide sharp vision at multiple distances—offering an expanded range of distances from near to far.
